Where we stayed: 5 min walk from Love Bridge and Notre-Dame Cathedral
Hotel Atmospheres - Really adorable boutique hotel and we got a room with a balcony which was nice to wake up to. Streets were actually very quiet and peaceful.
Where we ate:
- Le Reminet: We had lunch here and it was a highly rated French restaurant. That said...it was still French food and we would probably not go back. It was funny because the waiter would stand next to our table until we tried a bite of each course to see our reaction. LOL
- Le Wilson: This restaurant is right near the Eiffel Tower (on the Trocadero)...
I really wanted to stay at a hostel (not Ian) and well, I got the next best thing... a hotel/hostel combo where we stayed on the hotel side. Ha!
It was a really trendy, hipster place....kinda 'Urban Outfitters ish'....called Generator
I had never been to a castle (other than Disney) before and Ian was really excited to take me to Quinta da Regaleira. It's a unique castle because it has underground towers and grottos used in ancient initiation ceremonies of secret societies!
Where we stayed: A little town called Alfama
Memmo Alfama - Awesome hip place that is noted as "the first hotel in Alfama." They have small rooms but we loved it. It was very clean, had great complimentary breakfast, and service was friendly! We would go back there for sure.
Where we ate:
Nowhere to specifically note. We mostly went into "walk in and grab" type places. We did try their famous "Cherry Liqueur" at two different places. Both tasted like cough syrup but it was fun trying!
What we did:
- We checked out this popular flea market called Ladron that...
Regina celebrated her 7th birthday on Feb 28th and on May 1st, she passed away unexpectedly and tragically during a routine dental procedure where she needed some teeth pulled. She never made it out of anesthesia that day and it became one of the worst days of our lives. She was our joy. She had unconditional love for everyone and all she ever wanted in life was to be around us, getting her belly scratched. We always thought we were "taking care of her" when in reality, she was really "taking care of us" by bringing so much love into our lives. Regina, we love you forever and ever!! Thank you for being...
We had so many friends and family from all over the world coming to our wedding so we thought a welcome party the night before the wedding would be a great way for everyone to meet! We also showed a lil "newlywed" video with Q&A's and baby pics for everyone to get to know us better as a couple. Thank you to Kyree and Kristyn for this fabulous video recapping the night before our "I Do's!"
